Darrell Schweitzer is the author of THE MASK OF THE SORCERER, THE WHITE ISLE, THE SHATTERED GODDESS, and about 350 stories, which have appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines. His most recent story collection is AWAITING STRANGE GODS from Fedogan & Bremer, a volume of avowedly Lovecraftian stories. (He admits his career has been growing tentacles of late.) Others include REFUGEES FROM AN IMAGINARY COUNTRY, TRANSIENTS AND OTHER DISQUIETING STORIES, THE EMPEROR OF THE ANCIENT WORD, ECHOES OF THE GODDESS, NIGHTSCAPES, etc. He is a three time World Fantasy Award nominee and one-time winner – this last with the late George Scithers, as co-editor of WEIRD TALES, a position he held for 19 years. He has also edited anthologies, written non-fiction books about H.P. Lovecraft and Lord Dunsany, conducted interviews, contributed regularly to THE NEW YORK REVIEW OF SCIENCE FICTION for many years, and led the choir at Cthulhu Prayer Breakfasts, using hymns from his THE INNSMOUTH TABLERNACLE CHOIR HYMNAL.
